Admissions

All pupils admitted to The Livity School have an Education, Health and Care Plan. If the Education, Health and Care Plan indicates that a placement at The Livity School might be appropriate, Lambeth SEN ask us to consider whether or not we can offer the pupil a place. All admissions are via the Lambeth SEN department. We currently have pupils from a number of other London boroughs.

All referrals are considered by our admissions panel and an initial decision will be made as to whether or not we feel The Livity School can meet the special educational needs of the pupil. Where possible the pupil and their parents/carers will be invited to visit the school during school hours as part of this process.

General visits for prospective pupils and their parents/carers take place throughout the school year. These are arranged by contacting the school office or by email. We welcome visits to our school, so please call our school or email: admin@thelivity.lambeth.sch.uk.

If you live in Lambeth you can contact the Special Education Needs (SEN) Service on 020 7926 9579 / 9460 / 7754 or via email: sendsupport@lambeth.gov.uk.

Please note: if your child requires Home to School Transport you will need to apply through your Local Authority as school does not arrange this.

For Lambeth families wanting to apply for travel support, the application can be found on the Lambeth Local Offer.

Our Staff

Our staff hold a shared understanding of 'exemplary classroom practice' which gives pupils the best opportunities to make maximum individual progress.

Our staff are highly skilled and trained, working closely with therapists and other visiting professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils. We work regularly with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, the School Doctor and School Nurse, as well as Teachers of The Visually Impaired (Lambeth Sensory Support Service) and the Lambeth Hearing Support Service.

Classroom staff work closely with the Speech and Language Therapist and are trained in specialist communication methods, including: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), objects of reference, touch cues, Makaton, PECS and communication books.

We also have specialist classroom staff trained in areas such as positive behaviour management (Team Teach), mindfulness and dance. On site, we have a Movement Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist as part of our school team.

The school nursing service provides specialist training for staff in line with individual children’s additional health needs – for example allergies, asthma, epilepsy and gastrostomy. While the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Dysphagia) provides specialist training and information for staff supporting mealtimes for / feeding pupils with dysphagia.

You can find our school’s published financial information via the link below.

Number of federation employees with a salary > £120K: 1.

Our Governors

The Governing Body works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the strategic direction of the school. It does this by offering support, constructive advice, a sounding board for ideas, and help where needed. It challenges, asks questions and seeks information to ensure that the best interests of the children at The Livity School are met. All governors work on a voluntary basis.

We are happy to publish details of the Elm Court Livity Federation Governing Body Constitution and Membership. This is available to view as a pdf file here.
