Red Class

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Red Class 2018-19. I can’t believe that another year has begun! This year our class logo is Big Red Bus.

We welcome our new Livity team member, Matthew Pickard, our new Deputy Head, who will be teaching in class on Monday. Myself, Carole Collins, will teach on Tuesday to Friday. Matthew and I will be supported by, Nike Belo, Kham Luu and Sharon Edwards.

P.E. is on Monday afternoon and Dance is on Wednesday. Please could you ensure your child wears clothes appropriate for these sessions, track suit bottoms or loose stretchy trousers to enable the children to move comfortably. Swimming will begin again shortly with our new swimming instructor, Beata. Our session is timetabled for Thursday morning with Yellow Class. Please send in a named swimsuit, swim pads where appropriate and a towel in a named bag.

Homework and Chat Books will be sent home on Friday each week. Please look at these with your child and talk to them about the photos sent home with them to see some of the activities  they have been doing. Any photos you have of things your child has done at home would be gratefully received as well, it helps the staff working in Red Class to get a better picture of the activities the children like to do out of school and gives us a good talking point to look at and share with the class.

Our themed curriculum this half term is “On and Off-Making things happen” where the children are learning about things that turn on and off, where they are and what they do.

Home /school diaries will be sent home with your child each day, usually with a small comment of something your child has achieved that day as well as requests for replacement personal care items and spare clothes. Please send in spare clothes in case of accidents. When clothes are sent in it is very helpful if they are clearly named as some items can be very similar.

We are happy to welcome your child into Red Class this year and look forward to see them learning and making progress.

A big welcome to this year’s children and their families.
